Not a frame of mind. But a point of reference, that changes as we grow.

This mural was created for The Voices & Faces of Iowa Diversity Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.
The people in this mural are all portraits of conference attendees.
The work you see was done in one day by just two of the Tape Artists, in less than 8 hours, while carrying on a constant wave of conversations. If all three of us were there we could have achieved our dream of drawing arm hairs on all the figures.
The mural is called Point-of-View because the jungle gym is drawn from the perspective height of a third grader. So when you stand in front of this drawing on the wall you are in the shoes of a child and looking up through the belly of the jungle gym. This mural was an odd one in that it did not have a specific narrative... it just created a space. This space was universally described by the attendees as beautiful and peaceful and divine but it seemed to lack... meaning.

In light of its lack of a specific narrative or direction, Erica and Mike initially planned to give the mural meaning by giving it the title "Meaning" but ultimately Point-of-View seemed to encompass more of the interesting elements and aspects about the mural.

Work quickly before they come back.

A rare moment of silence on a peaceful mural.
