Yet another creative application for tape being showcased here by
Finn, Erica's nephew all the way from Canada. |
It seems that the virtual mural watching experience translates well
to the real thing. Here is Fiona (Finn's mum) perusing the web
site archives. We were thrilled to have this hands-on "international"
perspective. |

Beginnings of a vision. Perhaps inspired by the copious volumes
of water we have personally experienced of late we decided on a liquid
solution for the final scene. Cast in the Egyptian era you see here
two tunic garbed folk gazing intently into a reflection. |
| The Worcester Art Museum went about celebrating its 100th anniversary
this weekend. A whole mess of folks showed up to feast on the smorgasborg
of events the museum had lined up and culinary delights. |

| Today we were rewarded for five weeks of fighting
the elements. We witnessed a beautiful act of optimism. Undaunted
by driving winds and rain, the Worcester Art Museum topped off their Centennial
Celebration with a fireworks display for the ages. Not unlike Tape
Art, these fiery flashes of joy marked the night sky*, only to quickly
disappear. They were fired off in a field near the museum.
The finale was punctuated by the thunderous beats of the Spice Girls and
the sparkling vision of the number "100" burning in pink under the last
bursts of pyrotechnics. In the rain. We have tried to recreate
the experience for those of you who missed it.
The following page takes a little
while
to load, but is an awesome reminder
of
the triumph of the human spirit.
If you get a spray water bottle
and take aim
at yourself, while watching the
glowing
explosions on your screen... it's
not the same,
but, heck, we tried.
Take me to the Fireworks
Spectacular! |
*We have not actually done Tape Art on the sky before.
