During March and April, Michael has been an artist-in-residence with the Hong Kong International Artists’ Workshop 2008.  He has been teaching and collaborating with a local neighborhood group, as well as working on a video project.

The residents and neighbors of the Sham Shui Po K20-K23 urban renewal district got together to create a vibrant statement using brightly coloured duct tape. 


This Tape Art mural was created by over 50 people, joined together in a singular vision. They drew a powerful counter-proposal to a harsh government plan to demolish the buildings that represent their livelihoods and histories. 

 

Students createda short series of collaborative Tape Art murals over the course of one month.  These murals focused the energies of a small group of students who, in three steps, took their taping skills from the school's interior to its exterior and then into the surrounding neighborhood.
