Day Seven: Friday: Another drawing at the GE Crontonville campus
The drawing going into the Education Building is far more direct. We were primarily interested in how to tackle that long vertical brick surface in under two hours. It was impressed upon on us constantly that the Crontonville site brings in people from all over the world and from a vast array of cultures. It dawned on us that the elephant was a beautiful and gracious animal that could be the vehicle for people to travel to the Education Building. Beyond being majestic and having a reputation for intelligence, it is an animal that is revered by many cultures and is, to our knowledge, universally understood to be hard working and trustworthy. We thought a short parade of these animals with the participants riding on top of them into the Education Building would make for a humorous and lightly poignant drawing.
